Bitcoin Leverage Calculator (2026)

Leverage = position size / margin. A $10,000 BTC position with $1,000 margin is 10× leverage. The calculator inverts this — given your margin and target leverage, it returns the maximum position size and the liquidation price.

Safe leverage depends on stop-loss distance and account drawdown tolerance. 2-3× is conservative for swing trades. 5-10× requires tight stops and active monitoring. Above 20×, liquidation distance is so short that normal BTC volatility can wipe positions in minutes.
